Health Coaching

Most of us know that eating healthy food and exercising regularly is going to have a positive impact on our lives, from having more energy to losing the extra weight that has crept on over the years.  But, if that's all there is to it, why do most people find it so hard to do?

The answer is, at least in part, because habits that are detrimental to our health are difficult to break, because, whether we realise it or not, we're getting some kind of enjoyment or reward from it.  A simple example is eating milk chocolate.  It's full of sugar, artificial sweeteners, and milk (that contains hormones and antibiotics).  These ingredients can affect blood sugar regulation, and contribute to tooth decay and obesity; but the payoff is, that it tastes so good, many are willing to eat it anyway.

So, what's the relevance here?  The point is, it's this reward that impedes our progress, and determination alone just isn't enough to change a behaviour we no longer consciously want to engage in.  Feelings of deprivation can fuel our desire for the foods we're trying to avoid, and comfort and familiarity can derail attempts to stop unhealthy habits.

A lifestyle you'll love, not a diet you'll despise!

With health coaching, we don't focus on what you cannot have.  Instead, you'll be introduced to healthy practices that are achievable and foods that are enjoyable.  You won't have to figure out complicated diets and can prepare recipes the whole family can eat.  But, it isn't all about food; there's so much more to healthy and natural living practices.  For example, finding effective but natural personal care products and cosmetics; alternatives to toxin-laden mattresses, and cookware that doesn't contain questionable materials.

A Health Coach provides support and empowers you to make informed decisions about your own health.  The Health Coach facilitates the change but cannot do the work for you.  Identifying and changing habits that don't support your health requires your participation to be successful.  The exploration of your motivation for change is an important part of health coaching.  Goal setting and accountability increase the likelihood of reaching your goals and form part of the coaching process.

You will be empowered with the information and skills needed to work toward your health goals and experience life with increased energy, happiness, and vitality.
